According to a report by Newsweek, a group of sheep in the vicinity of Almyros, Thessaly, Greece, managed to infiltrate a greenhouse and voraciously consume a staggering 600 pounds of medical cannabis. This peculiar incident occurred as the sheep sought refuge from the aftermath of Storm Daniel, which had caused severe flooding in the region.

The impact of the storm was not limited to Greece alone, as the World Meteorological Organization revealed that it had unleashed its fury upon various parts of the central and eastern Mediterranean. Libya, Turney in Bulgaria, and Greece all experienced unprecedented levels of flooding, exacerbating the dire situation.

Despite the deluge of floodwaters, these resourceful sheep seemed to have stumbled upon a veritable paradise. However, their cunning plan to deceive their shepherd was swiftly unraveled. The shepherd, astutely aware of their mischievous escapade, observed that his woolly companions began exhibiting peculiar behavior after indulging in the forbidden Mary Jane. Astonishingly, these sheep were now capable of leaping higher than even the most agile of goats.

Understandably, the owner of the legal cannabis plantation was left utterly dumbfounded by this extraordinary turn of events.

In an interview with TheNewspapergr, he expressed his disbelief, stating, "I don't know whether to laugh or cry. We already face challenges due to the heat, resulting in significant production losses. And now, after enduring the floods, a herd of sheep, which I have no idea how to retrieve, managed to infiltrate the facility and consume what little was left."

He further added, "Honestly, I am at a loss for words."

Yannis Bourounis, the farm owner, shared his astonishment with a local radio producer, stating, "They found some green stuff to eat and started jumping higher than goats, which is something I've never witnessed before," as reported by Newsweek.

Medical cannabis has been legally available in Greece since 2017, marking a significant milestone in the country's progressive approach to healthcare. This year, Greece proudly celebrated the establishment of its inaugural medical cannabis plant, symbolizing a new era of therapeutic possibilities.

However, it is crucial to acknowledge that while cannabis may hold promising medicinal benefits for humans, its usage poses inherent dangers to our beloved animal companions.
