Dog Returned to Florida Rescue Because She Wants to Sleep in Bed With Owners

You've probably read the recent story of a black cat who found a forever home in Maryland after being surrendered by her owner in Virginia because she wanted to cuddle. This time, it is a senior Florida dog who was returned by her human parents to the animal rescue in Sarasota County because she wanted to sleep in bed with them.

Officials at the True and Faithful Pet Rescue Mission in Venice, Sarasota County, Florida have heard every reason why some pet owners surrender their pets. However, rarely do pet owners surrender a pet because the animal wanted to sleep with them in bed. While some people hate cuddling in bed with a pet, others can't get enough of it.

According to the Rescue Mission, which is committed to saving seniors and “unwanted” dogs from high-kill shelters and finding them forever homes, Twinkle the Chihuahua mix dog was adopted 4 months ago by a couple who brought her to what was supposed to be her forever home. However, after showering her new owners with love and affection for four months, Twinkle found herself back at the shelter for wanting to share their bed.

Before being adopted, Twinkle was found abandoned and very sick on a Miami street. When she was brought to the rescue, Twinkle was suffering from a terrible skin infection, severe dental issues, and mammary tumors that needed to be removed.

Fortunately, her health was restored to normal after receiving all the treatment and care she needed. Twinkle was subsequently put up for adoption as she was excited to spend her golden years with a new family in a loving home. After being adopted for just four months, the well-behaved dog was returned for an unbelievable reason: "She wanted to sleep in bed with her new mommy and daddy," the rescue shared on social media.

Once again, Twinkle is looking for a new family, but this time, a family that will allow her to sleep in bed with them. When Twinkle's story hit social media, it wasn't long before the rescue announced that her adoption is pending for a "real forever" home where she will be allowed to share her new human parents' bed.
